Echo is a physical phenomenon that occurs due to the reflection of the original sound from objects. Our hearing aids perceive sound reflected from objects and thus we hear a slightly distorted copy of the original signal. The meaning of this effect is quite clear from its name - to put it simply, it is a repetition of a sound after its source (a human voice) is silent. This is a kind of voice reflection that reaches the listener with some delay relative to the original sound. In order for the sound to be perceived exactly as an echo, and not as an echo, the signal delay must be at least 50 ms. To achieve a gradually decaying echo, its copies, muffled in amplitude, are superimposed on the main signal. However, it should be noted that without the support of reverberation, the echo itself creates the impression of singing in a cave or in a tunnel, which does not decorate the vocal part.
